Bengang ignites hot stoves for No.5 blast furnace
Benxi Iron & Steel (Bengang) in northeastern China's Liaoning province has ignited four hot stoves for its No.5 blast furnace. This also means that the blat furnace is approaching commissioning, Kallanish notes.
The new blast furnace is reported to have 2.5 million tonnes/year of iron capacity with an inner volume of 3,000 cubic-metres. Construction by MCC'S Huaye Group began on 5 May 2019.
