Baowu aces Chinese crude steel output in 2016
The top 21 steelmakers accounted for about 52% of the 808 million tonnes of crude steel China produced in 2016. Despite higher output at small and medium mills, the merger between Baosteel and Wugang has helped improve the industrial concentration rate by around 1.7% y-o-y, Kallanish notes.
