Baowu promises to be largest steelmaker by 2020
China Baowu Group chairman Chen Derong has stated that Chongqing Iron & Steel (Chonggang) will reach 10 million tonnes/year of steel capacity after a technical transformation next year. Thus, Baowu will have a capacity of 100m t/y, and be the world's largest steelmaker in terms of capacity, Kallanish notes.
