Baosteel orders new slab caster from Primetals
Baosteel has ordered one two-strand continuous slab caster from Primetals for its plant in Shanghai. This caster can produce both conventional and silicon steel for various industries, including for home appliances and automotives, Kallanish notes.
This caster is able to produce 2.35 million tonnes/year of slabs with thickness of 2,300mm and width 900-1,450mm. The metallurgical length is 37 metres.
