Chip shortage hampers Indian higher-end auto output: Ind-Ra
India Ratings & Research (Ind-Ra) expects semiconductor shortages to affect the profitability of OEMs due to production disruption.
Auto makers will also have to pay premiums on procurement from existing/alternate suppliers to ensure adequate availability of semiconductor chips. Moreover, the rating agency expects higher sales of non-premium models which do not require the chips.
