Automotive boosts Tata Steel June-quarter sales growth
Tata Steel’s Indian operation increased sales 8% on-year in the first fiscal quarter through June to 2.97 million tonnes, boosted by a quarterly record 557,000t of Automotive & Special Products sales. Production also rose 8% to 3.17mt due to better plant availability at Kalinganagar.
Tata Steel Europe, meanwhile, saw 1% sales growth to 2.43mt in spite of the uncertainty surrounding Section 232 in the US.
