Australia tightens wire rod import protections

Australia’s Anti-Dumping Commission has concluded a review of anti-dumping duties on imports of steel rod in coils from China. The move will make shipments from Shagang and Hunan Valin in particular more expensive, Kallanish notes. The review began in April 2018 at the request of Liberty OneSteel, which argued that the market situation had changed and duties needed to be updated.
