ATI, USW contract battle drags on
The United Steelworkers (USW) remain on strike at Allegheny Technology Inc (ATI) facilities as the two sides remain deadlocked regarding a new contract.
ATI lowered its one-time bonus in its final-offer contract from $4,000 to $2,500 on Wednesday to reflect monies lost as a result of the strike.
In the company’s first-quarter earnings review, ceo Robert Wetherbee said the company is “incredibly disappointed” by the strike.
