ATI premium sales offset commodity stainless drop
Specialty metals producer Allegheny Technologies Inc saw an uptick in its premium flat-rolled markets during the third quarter, offset by a drop in commodity stainless sales, Kallanish reports.
Total flat-rolled sales during the quarter were $467 million, up 7% from Q3 2018. High-value products like nickel-based and titanium-based alloys were up 13%, while standard stainless sheet sales fell by -12%. The segment’s operating profit was $20.4m, or about 4.4%…
