AST eyes mid-2023 lines commissioning, more production cuts
Acciai Speciali Terni (AST) is to install its new hot and cold rolling lines in May next year, ahead of schedule, union sources tell Kallanish.
The mill is sourcing second-hand technology from a defunct steel mill in Bahrain for an investment of €25 million ($24.5m). Equipment maker Danieli will install and fully revamp the lines, for which operations are planned to start by mid-2023.
Meanwhile, AST will extend temporary layoffs in October for about 400 work…
