Assofermet sees two-speed scrap market in May
Italian steel trade association Assofermet notes that there has been high fluctuation and instability in international scrap prices in May. The news of the change in US duties first pushed prices up but this momentum faded towards the end of the month. However, in the international arena, and despite undulating offers, May ended with significantly higher scrap prices than those recorded in the early days of the month.
