Asonext invests in new converter
Italian special stainless steel producer Asonext is investing in its production plants in Brescia, northern Italy.
Following a study on the steelmaker’s existing argon-oxygen decarburisation (AOD) process, Primetals will revamp the 40-tonne AOD converter shop. The start-up of the new converter is scheduled for the beginning of next year and will result in a production boost and process optimisation, according to the technology supplier.
