Ascometal files for bankruptcy, S+B shows acquisition interest
Ascometal, the French special steels producer and supplier, officially filed for bankruptcy at the end of last week. The Swiss steel producer Schmolz + Bickenbach has confirmed its interest in acquiring the company, while sources report that other European players are monitoring the situation.
