Arvedi halts pig iron production for upgrade work
Italian steelmaker Arvedi is set to halt pig iron production at its Ferriera di Servola mill temporarily from the beginning of next week to begin equipment modifications at the plant, Kallanish learns from sources.
The upgrade work has been planned to comply with environmental improvement requests from local authorities. Arvedi will be supported by the technology provider Paul Wurth and work will continue well into the fourth quarter.
