Argentina’s trade deficit widens in second quarter
Argentina saw its second-quarter finished steel trade deficit widen both quarter-on-quarter and on-year, according to data from local steel association Cámara Argentina de Acero (CAA). This was the result of lower exports compared to Q1, while imports rose.
Q2 entries exceeded exports by almost 123,800 tonnes, Kallanish notes. By comparison, the trade deficit was 63,000t in Q1 and 71,100t in Q2 2021.
