Argentina’s steel trade deficit widens in Q1
Argentina saw its first-quarter finished steel trade deficit widen both on-quarter and on-year. During Q1, imports grew considerably, Kallanish notes.
According to data from local steel association Cámara Argentina de Acero (CAA), entries in the period exceeded exports by 171,800 tonnes. By comparison, the trade deficit was just 25,900t in Q4 2022 and 61,600t in Q1 2022.
