Argentina's primary iron production slump continues in July
Argentinian primary iron production fell in July for a sixth consecutive month. The decrease is mainly explained by lower sponge iron output, Kallanish learns from the national steel association Cámara Argentina del Acero (CAA).
Primary iron production was 195,000 tonnes in July, down 93,800t from June and 14.2% less than the 227,300t produced in the same month last year. This volume was the lowest since 195,500t in September 2020.
