Argentina's trade deficit widens in first quarter
Argentina saw its first-quarter finished steel trade deficit widen quarter-on-quarter, according to data from local steel association Cámara Argentina de Acero (CAA). Although imports fell both quarter-on-quarter and on-year, entries exceeded exports by almost 61,600 tonnes in the period, Kallanish notes. By comparison, the trade deficit was just 900t in Q4 2021 but 112,900t in Q1 2021.
