Demand recovery, shortages propel Argentina first-quarter imports
Argentina saw its finished steel trade balance turn negative in the first quarter, according to data from local steel association Cámara Argentina de Acero (CAA). Strong post-Covid-19 demand along with domestic material shortages pushed imports to increase sharply, Kallanish notes.
