Architectural billings up in September, AIA says
The American Institute of Architects (AIA) saw an uptick in its architectural billings index in September, indicating gathering strength in the construction industry, Kallanish understands.
The index, which is positive for values above 50 and negative for values below 50, moved from 49.1 in August to 53.7 in September. The index is constructed via AIA member surveys and aims to reflect the 9-12-month lag between billings and actual construction spending.
