ArcelorMittal starts second Gijón coke battery
ArcelorMittal confirms to Kallanish it started the second new coke battery at its Gijón plant in northern Spain on 12 February. This follows the commissioning of the coke-oven gas injection system at blast furnace B at the beginning of the month, the steelmaker says.
“The start-up of battery No. 2 has gone well, without incident and according to estimates,” the steelmaker comments.
