ArcelorMittal obtains environmental approval for Brazil’s Vega plant
The Brazilian environmental authority Instituto do Meio Ambiente de Santa Catarina (IMA) has granted the licensing of ArcelorMittal Brasil's Vega unit operations. This facility, in São Francisco do Sul, completed its largest expansion with an investment of $350 million, Kallanish notes.
The CMC project began in 2021 and included a new continuous annealing line and a third galvanisation line.
