ArcelorMittal Italia stops plate mill
ArcelorMittal Italia is idling the plate mill at its Taranto steelworks from 1 August, Kallanish learns from the company.
Taranto union Unione Sindacale di Base (USB) says this follows another recent stoppage at the Taranto steelworks of the cold rolling mill. The tube mill is also idled and meltshop no. 1 has been dismantled to recover spare parts for meltshop no.2.
