ArcelorMittal Italia to lay off 3,500 workers: unions
ArcelorMittal Italia has told unions it will temporarily lay off 3,500 workers at its Taranto facility, union representatives tell Kallanish.
This includes the 1,300 workers that are already temporarily laid off and follows the decision of a tribunal in Taranto to shut down blast furnace no. 2 at the site as of 13 December.
ArcelorMittal did not respond before deadline to requests for comment.
