ArcelorMittal Italia extends layoffs on drop in orders
ArcelorMittal Italia has asked to extend temporary layoffs for a further four weeks through July as negotiations continue with the government over the future of the former Ilva, Kallanish learns from sources close to the company.
According to a union representative, the company said in a letter to workers that an extension is necessary due to the decline in orders in the current post-pandemic steel market.
