ArcelorMittal becomes preferred bidder for Essar Steel India
ArcelorMittal tells Kallanish that it has been confirmed as the preferred bidder in the race to acquire India’s troubled Essar Steel India Limited (ESIL).
In a brief statement the Luxembourg-headquartered steelmaker says it has been “… informed by the committee of creditors for ESIL that it has been evaluated to be the H1 Resolution Applicant (the preferred bidder) in the corporate insolvency resolution process for ESIL.”
