Anyang plans to increase steel production in 2017
China’s state-owned Anyang Iron & Steel Group plans to produce 8.46 million tonnes of crude steel this year. By doing so, it would reverse a decline in iron and steel output last year by -3.54% and -2.42% respectively to 8.18mt and 8.08mt, according to the company's annual report. Recovering steel prices and new product development helped the company turn a CNY 2.5 billion ($362m) loss in 2015 into a profit in 2016, Kallanish notes.
