AMSA, unions reach wage agreement, end strike
ArcelorMittal South Africa (AMSA) and the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) have reached a wage agreement two weeks after workers begun a strike over pay, Kallanish notes.
The agreement, which will be backdated to 1 April 2022 and applies to all bargaining unit employees, comprises a 6.5% increase on all remuneration elements, plus a ZAR 5,000 ($316) one-off ex-gratia payment, AMSA tells Kallanish.
