ArcelorMittal Hamburg joins regional renewable energy project
ArcelorMittal Hamburg has joined a group of companies and institutions in Northern Germany in a project to explore the future of energy supply in the region. The long-term object of the exercise is to provide the region with 100% renewable energy.
The project, known as Norddeutsche Energiewende 4.0 (NEW 4.0) involves 60 participants, and is subsidised with public funds of €41 million ($49m) up to 2020.
