Algeria sets import quantity restrictions for rebar
The Algerian government has imposed a limit on imports of rebar, restricting the landings of the product to 2 million tonnes in 2016, Kallanish learns from the country’s ministry of commerce. The decision is expected to have a strong impact on the Italian, Spanish and Portuguese steelmakers which provide the vast majority of European-made rebar to the Algerian market.
