Alabama offers AM/NS Calvert expansion $29m in incentives
The state of Alabama will provide at least $29 million in incentives to ArcelorMittal North America and Nippon Steel for an electric arc furnace expansion at the companies' joint AM/NS Calvert mill complex in Mobile, Kallanish reports.
The new electric arc furnace will increase the facilities' steel slab production by 1.5m short tons, which will then be converted in the mills hot-strip facility.
