AISI report shows imports decreased 2% in 2022

The US imported 2% less steel in 2022 compared to 2021, Kallanish understands from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI). Other information AISI shares from its annual statistics report includes an 11% increase in finished steel imports in 2022, capturing a 24% share of steel consumption for the year. According to the report, the automotive and construction industries drove demand for US steel products in end-use markets in 2022.
