African countries posts crude steel output growth
Egypt, South Africa, Algeria, Morocco, Libya and Tunisia combined produced 1.98 million tonnes of crude steel in January, 5.2% more than in December and 16.3% more than in January 2023.
In full-year 2023, the six nations saw crude steel production of 24.22mt versus 23.04mt in 2022, notes Kallanish.
