Aferpi restarts wire rod mill
Italy’s Aferpi, recently acquired by Indian steelmaker JSW from former owner Cevital, has restarted its wire rod mill fed with semi-finished product sourced from JSW steelworks, Kallanish learns from a union representative. The rod mill is currently working three shifts and should again be idled in December, the source says.
While production at the rail line started in August, the bar mill is set to resume activity in early 2019, Kallanish hears.
