Xinjiang plans to cut some capacity
China’s north eastern region of Xinjiang plans to cut another 500,000 tonnes/year of iron making and 300,000 t/y of steelmaking capacity in 2015 according to local government plans. The amount is only a fraction however of the capacity added over recent years, Kallanish notes.
