Wugang starts rolling 1.8mm narrow strip
Central China’s Wuhan Iron and Steel Group began rolling 1.8mm narrow strip in June, Kallanish learns from the company. A new rolling process was designed at an existing mill at the firm’s Echeng steelworks in Hubei province.
The first run, on 17 June, comprised six strips totalling 7.8 tonnes of 1.8mm by 272mm narrow strip of grade Q195LC. The line had previously been rolling 2.5x273mm strip.
