Vietnamese car sales boom boosts automotive steel demand
Vietnam’s automotive sales surged 58% year-on-year in the first half of 2015, according to the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturer' Association (Vama). The country remains a small player in Asian automotive demand, but rapid year-on-year growth means it is now adding significant volumes to Asian steel demand as China’s demand stalls, Kallanish notes.
