US longs imports show mixed movements in August
Movements in US long product imports were mixed from July to August, based on a Kallanish review of the August import license count by the US Department of Commerce.
While rebar imports fell -19% from July to 139,119 permit tons in August, the August count was 16% ahead of the same month in 2014 when 119,777t were imported. Landings of hot rolled bar were basically flat at 101,111t in August. Compared to the same month in 2014, however, HR bar imports were -…
