UK steel sector sees demand and imports rise in 2014
The UK steel sector saw a modest increase in production in 2014 whilst apparent demand rose to pre-financial crisis levels, according to steel producers association UK Steel. In its yearly report sent to Kallanish, UK Steel says however than import market share also increased by 4 percentage points over that of 2013. Outlook for the sector in 2015 is generally optimistic but “…remains challenging”.
