Mexico's Tyasa signs off on new Quantum EAF
Mexican long steel producer Talleres y Aceros (Tyasa) has signed off with plant supplier, Primetals Technologies on completion of its new mini-mill in Ixtaczoquitlan, in the Mexican state of Veracruz. The contract included a 100-tonne Quantum electric arc furnace, as well as secondary steelmaking, including a 100t double ladle furnace and a 100t double vacuum degassing plant, the plantmaker adds in a statement to Kallanish.
