Turkish rebar firms on scrap uptick, but trend seen unsustainable
Turkish rebar prices for export increased this week to $500/tonne fob after scrap prices firmed to above $310/t cfr Turkey. However, market participants tell Kallanish there is little justification for the hike as iron ore prices remain unchanged and finished product demand has not picked up, meaning the increasing trend will not last.
