Turkish producer hikes bar prices on weaker lira, despite low demand
Turkish long steelmaker Icdas has increased its prices of domestic rebar by TRY20/tonne ($9) to TRY1,530-1,550/t ($691-700) ex-works, including 18% VAT. Kallanish learns from the company. The move, despite weak demand, is thought to be in response to the depreciation of the lira against the dollar. The firm uses the latter currency to import its scrap.
