Turkish mills hike domestic bar prices again on weak lira
Turkish long steelmakers have again increased their bar prices for domestic sales after the Turkish lira reached a record low against the dollar and scrap continued its uptick from last week, Kallanish learns.
Kardemir increased its prices for the second time in a week, by TRY 18/tonne ($8/t) from its previous price list issued on 15 December. Round bar of 12-32mm diameter is now at TRY 1,221/t ($526), while 12-32mm dia rebar is now at TRY 1,204/t.
