Tsingshan contracts 3 million t/y Indonesian steelworks plan
China’s Tsingshan Iron and Steel has contracted MCC Beris Engineering, part of China Metallurgical Corporation (MCC), to design a 3 million tonnes/year stainless hot rolling line in Indonesia, MCC says. The project is part of a massive wave of investment over the next several years which, if successful, would see the company dominate the Asian stainless market, Kallanish notes.
