Japan's Tokyo Steel plans to shift coil ops from Okayama to Tahara
Japan’s Tokyo Steel says increased availability of Chinese coil, in particular, means the market has softened, making it no longer viable to produce hot rolled coil at Okayama, western Japan. The company plans to stop its Okayama HRC mill and electric arc furnace by March 2015 and shift the volumes to its Tahara strip mill by April.
