Tenaris signals production halts in Canada and US plants
Steel tubemaker Tenaris will temporarily halt production in its welded pipe mill in Calgary, Canada, and at its threading facility in Westwego, Louisiana in the US, Kallanish learns from the company.
The plant in Canada will be mothballed while the existing inventories will be sold on the market, Tenaris says. The stoppage is expected to start on July 31 and the decision will result in approximately 120 layoffs, the company adds.
