Steel and iron ore slide as steel output high
Chinese steel futures prices dropped slightly on Monday as strong supply slowed the decline in inventories. Seaborne iron ore prices meanwhile has also slumped, as hopes of a recovery in steel demand in September fade away.
The January 2016 rebar contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed down CNY 29/tonne on Monday at CNY 1,952/t ($306/t), while the same contract for hot rolled coil closed down CNY 25/t at CNY 1,959/t.
