Siemens and Mitsubishi-Hitachi merge plantmaking to form Primetals Technologies
Plantmakers Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and Siemens have set up Primetals Technologies, a joint-venture, which will be “a complete and global provider of plant, products and services for the iron, steel and non-ferrous industries.” The venture is 51%-owned by Japan’s Mitsubishi-Hitachi Metals Machinery (MHMM), part of MHI, while Germany’s Siemens holds the balance.
