Severstal divests US operations in 2 separate deals
Russia’s Severstal has agreed to sell its North American steelmaking operations to US companies Steel Dynamics Inc (SDI) and AK Steel Corp. SDI will acquire the Columbus plant in northeast Mississippi for about $1.6 billion, Kallanish learns, while the Dearborn plant in Michigan will go to AK Steel for $700m.
