September stainless surcharges dip in US
Both austenitic and ferritic stainless surcharges appear to have fallen in the US in September, Kallanish understands.
According to published price lists from AK Steel, Allegheny Technologies Inc, Outokumpu, and North American Stainless, austenitic type 304 stainless coil surcharges fell from about $0.52/lb in August to $0.47/lb in September.
Ferritic stainless surcharges likewise ticked down from about $0.19/lb to $0.18/lb.
